Featured Accessories
CSS-A021 DB25-to-Input: Analog/Digital/Pulse-To-CAN Adapter
Need to easily connect sensors to the CANmod input?
This adapter cable splits the CANmod.input DB25 connector pins into 8, separate cables (one per input channel).
The cables are split into three wires (ground, positive excitation signal and signal), each insulated with
heat-shrunk pin headers.
This makes it easy to connect a wide variety of analogue, digital or pulse type sensors.
4x Thermocouple Probes (Type K)
Need type-K thermocouple probes for your CANmod.temp?
The CANmod.temp supports any type of thermocouple probes, with type K being the most commonly used.
These are 4x type-K thermocouple probes. The probe cable length is 3 meters, and the probe diameter
is 1.5 mm.
The probes are suitable for measuring temperatures within a -50 °C to 250 °C range.
CSS-A13 CANCrocodile (CH2) – Contactless CAN Bus Reader
Do you need to log CAN bus data directly from the CAN L/H wiring harness?
Now you can, without cutting CAN wires!
The CANCrocodile contactless CAN reader parses the raw CAN data to your CAN logger via non-invasive
electromagnetic fields, ensuring that your warranty is kept intact.
This CH2 adapter is designed for use with the second port of the CANedge series.
About the CANCrocodile
The CANCrocodile enables safe reading of data from the CAN L/H wiring harness (e.g. in vehicles). It can be used to
connect your CAN logger e.g. when connectors are not available - or if a contactless CAN bus reader is preferred for
warranty purposes.
If you need to only log data via Channel 1, we recommend our contactless CAN reader (CH1). However, if you need to
log 2x CAN buses, the CH2 CANCrocodile can be powered via the CANedge 2nd port. You can also mix adapters - e.g. a
contactless CAN reader (CH1) plus this CH2 CANCrocodile - or a DB9-J1939 + CH2 CANCrocodile etc.
Installation
To connect the CANCrocodile head, follow the below:
- Open the CANCrocodile housing
- Place the CAN-H/CAN-L wires on the marked surface
- Close the housing, engaging the latch
- Optionally seal the housing (recommended)
Next, connect the CANCrocodile to your CANedge:
- Connect the CANcrocodile to the CANedge CH2
- In the CANedge config, enable 2nd port power
- Set the CANedge bit-rate to match the CAN bus
- Ensure the CANedge CAN CH2 Mode is set to 'Normal'
- Power the CANedge via CH1 (e.g. via another adapter)
CSS-A32 Contactless CAN Bus Reader
Do you need to log/stream CAN bus data directly from the CAN H/L wiring harness?
Now you can, without cutting CAN wires!
The contactless CAN reader parses the raw CAN data to your CANedge CAN logger or CANsub CAN interface
via non-invasive electromagnetic fields, ensuring that your warranty is kept intact.
This adapter is particularly compact and robust, making it ideal for permanent installations.
About the contactless CAN reader
This adapter enables safe reading of data from the CAN L/H wiring harness (e.g. in vehicles / machinery).
It can be used to connect your CANedge CAN logger or CANsub CAN interface e.g. when connectors are not
available or if preferred for warranty/cybersecurity reasons. As a read-only probe, it works equally well
for offline logging with the CANedge or for live-streaming via the CANsub into webCAN.
In particular, contactless CAN readers are becoming popular with the roll-out of automotive cybersecurity
regulation such as UN ECE R155. By connecting a telematics device with a contactless CAN reader, you maintain
'read' access to the CAN bus but guarantee that the device is unable to interfere with the CAN bus in any way.
This prohibits attacks such as setting an invalid bit-rate (to trigger CAN errors) or sending unwanted CAN
traffic onto the CAN bus (to e.g. attempt remote control of the vehicle).
Installation
Connect the adapter as follows:
- Carefully open the housing with a plastic pry tool as per the visual
- Remove backside material on double-sided tape
- Correctly insert the CAN-H/CAN-L wires on the marked surface
- Close the housing (with a click sound)
- The contactless adapter is now ready to use
Next, connect your CAN logger/interface:
- Connect the DB9 to the CANedge CH1 or CANsub.2 CH1/CH2
- Connect the DC connector to a power supply (e.g. via a receptacle-DC adapter)
- Configure your bit-rate to match the CAN bus (auto-detect will not work)
- Ensure your CAN logger/interface is not using silent mode
CSS-046 IP67 Enclosure Kit for CANedge (Waterproof & Dust Tight)
The IP67 enclosure kit is a plug & play solution for your CANedge CAN bus data logger, making it 100%
dust-tight and waterproof.
Mount your CANedge onto the end plate PCB and slide it into the IP67 enclosure. The IP67 DTM06-12SA
connector exposes all CANedge pins with optional adapters, including our DTM06-12SA-DB9/DB9 adapter,
and DTM06-12SA connector kit.
The kit includes all you need for your installation and can be used with both the CANedge1, CANedge2
and CANedge3.
CSS-A047 DTM06-12SA-DB9/DB9 Adapter (CANedge IP67 Enclosure)
Want to install your CANedge in our IP67 enclosure yet still be able to use our DB9 adapter cables?
If so, this DTM06-12SA-DB9/DB9 adapter is the ideal solution. It converts the DTM06-12SA connector of our
IP67 enclosure to two DB9 male connectors matching the pinouts of the CANedge CH1/CH2 DB9 connectors.
This means that you can directly use any of our DB9 adapter cables out-the-box for quick, flexible installation
and testing.
CSS-A048 DTM06-12SA Connector Kit for IP67 Enclosure
Want to install your CANedge in our IP67 enclosure with your own custom cable?
If so, this DTM06-12SA kit is ideal. It lets you quickly assemble a IP67 DTM06-12SA connector matching our
IP67 enclosure for your customised cable.
This product includes a DTM06-12SA connector kit, a bootlip (for heat shrinking) and 12 x 18–16 GA terminals
(for soldering).
