Automotive PicoScope Accessories

We supply a large range of useful PicoScope Accessories, including sensors, test leads, clips and adaptors, to assist you in connecting to the vehicle.

Current Clamps and Scope Probes

The Current Clamps. The latest current clamps are PicoBNC+, which means that the scope identifies the accessory as soon as you plug it in and sets up PicoScope 7 software automatically. The PicoScope also supplies power to the accessory, which means that you don't need batteries.

BNC current clamps are also available for the 8-channel 4823 PicoScope and for older BNC scopes.

A range of PicoBNC+ and BNC Scope Probes are available capable of 10:1 attenuation, which makes them suitable for high-speed testing (e.g. CAN and CAN-FD) and high voltages such as primary ignition.

Test Leads, Attenuators, Sensors and Cables

Premium Test Leads have 4 mm plugs and are supplied in PicoBNC+ and BNC versions. They are coloured Blue, Red, Green and Yellow to match the channel colour, and some are also available in Black. They are available in 3 m and 5 m lengths and are suitable for low voltages and speeds up to about 1 MHz. Use the 10:1 probes for high-voltage and high-speed testing (e.g. Primary Ignition, CAN or CAN-FD).

Two extremely useful PicoScope Accessories are the PicoBNC+ Resistance Lead and Temperature Probe. Use your PicoScope to graph changes in resistance and Temperature.

BNC Adapters & 10:1 Attenuators, Parking and Keyless Entry Detectors, USB Cables for your PicoScope and Signal Conditioners complete this range.

Clips, Adapters, Back-pinning Probes and Piercing Clips

We supply a range of 4 mm crocodile and dolphin clips, prods, battery clamps and adaptors on our Clips and Adaptors page. A range of back-pining probes and piercing clips can be found on our Back-pining and Piercing page. All these items are compatible with our premium test leads and 10:1 probes.

Break-Outs

Break-out leads allow you to test easily without having to back-pin or pierce wires. This means that you are less intrusive and less likely to cause damage. Break-outs for a large range of common automotive connectors are available on our Break-Out Connector page. CAN Diagnosis is made easy with our OBD port CAN Break Out Box. You can measure Current and Voltage using our Fuse Breakouts and Kit. Last but not least, the Professional Breakout Lead Set is indispensable as it allows you to break out connector contacts with access to voltage and to current.

Ignition Accessories

Diagnose ignition problems with ease. Our COP Probes are magnetically coupled to the ignition coil and allow you to see the secondary ignition waveform without connecting. They are also useful for any varying magnetic field e.g. injectors, solenoids and EV charging.

Our Secondary Ignition Pickups couple capacitively (no connection required) to the ignition leads and allow you to examine secondary ignition waveforms more accurately. They work well with our HT Extension leads that allow you to access the connection between the COP coil and spark plug.

The MixMaster Ignition Signal Mixer allows you to monitor up to 12 ignition signals from a single PicoScope Channel.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Accessories

Safety is paramount when working with Electric Vehicles. Our 2-Pole Tester checks for high voltages and should always be used with appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) before working on EVs.

Our Milli-Ohm and Motor Tester Kit is designed to measure extremely low resistance accurately and also, EV motor winding resistance. It can also be used as a general-purpose low-resistance tester which will find problems with connections (e.g. poor battery connections, loose connections and corroded terminals).

Our Insulation Tester is designed to measure insulation resistance and can be used to check the integrity of EV motors and other electrical components. It is also a precision, 40,000-count multimeter and has blue-tooth.

Our PicoBNC+ Differential Probe is used with your 4425A or 4225A PicoScope to measure voltages up to 1,400 V.

Miscellaneous

Foam Trays help you to store your Pico equipment in tool drawers in your workshop. This allows you easy access whilst providing security.

The last section: Miscellaneous, is for accessories that don't fit into the other categories.
