Hoses & Adaptors
The PICO-TA085 is a simple adaptor used to connect the WPS500X to a vehicle's vacuum system, either directly, or in conjunction with the PICO-TA129 universal vacuum adaptor.
Exhaust Adaptor Hose
The PICO-TA087 is a rigid adaptor used to mount the WPS500X in the tailpipe of a vehicle for measuring exhaust gas pulsations.
Standard Compression Hose
The PICO-TA212 standard compression hose must be used in conjunction with the appropriate adaptor for carrying out Engine Compression tests with the WPS500X. (see the Plug Adaptors Tab)
Please ensure that the adaptor you select is the same thread size and no longer than the tip of spark plug you are replacing. While using a shorter adaptor than the spark plug you are replacing may produce results that are slightly low using one that is longer may damage your engine.
The High strength of the standard compression hose is designed to have the minimum possible damping effect on the observed waveform. Using an alternative more flexible hose will significantly degrade the measured waveform.
Short Hose with Female to Female Coupler (Rectus 21)
The PICO-TA316 is a short hose with female to female coupler (Rectus 21).
Petrol Fuel Pressure Hoses (Large and Small Schrader)
The PICO-TA083 (large) and PICO-TA117 (small) fuel hoses are designed specifically for use with the WPS500X pressure transducer, with a strong construction to ensure safe and accurate operation. The hose is terminated at one end with a Foster connector to fit the WPS500X, and at the other end with a Schrader valve to fit standard fuel rails.

WPS500X Large Hose Adaptor
The PICO-TA166 Large Hose Adaptor is made of aluminum and can be used to connect between hoses of approximately 10 mm internal diameter and hoses of 10 mm, 6 mm and 4 mm internal diameter. It can also be used as a spare part for the plastic adaptor in the PICO-TA014 FirstLook sensor.
WPS500X Adaptor Kit A
The PICO-PP970 WPS500X Adaptor Kit A enables you to use your WPS500X as a replacement for the gauge in a wide range of AST (and other Foster 12FST) pressure testing kits. This kit enables you to re-use your existing adaptors and still gain the advantages of seeing pressure activity in real time with the WPS500X.
The kit consist of a compression hose to use with various AST adaptor kits, such as dummy injectors and glow plugs. It also consists of a second adaptor for using the WPS500X to replace the original dial gauge in various AST testing kits.
The PICO-PP970 converts the male Foster 2 series connector on the input of the WPS500X to either a male, or using the TA212 pressure hose, a female Foster 12FST series quick coupler. More details on Foster couplers is available from www.couplers.com
WPS500X Adaptor Kit B
The PICO-TA250 WPS500X Adaptor Kit B adaptor kit enables you to use your WPS500X as a replacement for a gauge in a wide range of aftermarket pressure testing kits (e.g. Sykes–Pickavant, Sealey, Laser and Draper kits). This kit enables you to reuse your existing adaptors and still gain the advantages of seeing pressure activity in real time with the WPS500X.
The kit comes with 2 separate adaptors. The Compression adaptor uses the Pico Standard compression hose to connect to your various third party dummy injector, glow plug or spark plug adaptors. The second adaptor is for using the WPS500X to replace the original dial gauge in aftermarket test kits for looking at items like coolant, oil, fuel pressures etc.
The PICO-TA250 converts the male Foster 2 series connector on the input of the WPS500X to a male or, in conjunction with the Pico TA212 Standard compression Hose, a female Rectus series 21 coupler.

Right-angle Rectus-21 Pressure Adaptor
The PICO-TA333 is an adaptor used with the low fuel pressure kit to simplify some of the interconnect requirements when connecting pressure testing kits.
Male to Male Rectus-21 Pressure Adaptor
The PICO-TA332 adaptor is used with the low fuel pressure kit to simplify some of the interconnect requirements when connecting pressure testing kits.
Foster 2 Series Quick Coupler Female to ⅛" NPT Male
The PICO-TA142 is a spare Foster series 2 to ⅛" NPT connector which enables the user to make up additional hoses for any custom requirements that may not have been covered by the standard set of adaptors and hoses supplied by Pico for the WPS500X.
Please note: Pressure hoses should always be made by a qualified professional and pressure tested before initial use.
Low Pressure Fuel Kit - Sight Block Kit
The Pico PQ071 Sight block kit contains the sight block (an updated version of the one used in our Volkswagen caddy case study), a stop valve for testing a negative pressure fuel pump under load, and 3 sets of hose barbs for connecting to different size fuel hoses.
The kit is intended for diagnosing problems with low-pressure fuel systems up to the inlet of any high-pressure pump. The maximum safe working pressure for the sight block is 7 bar (gauge pressure).
Taps & Adaptors
Universal Vacuum Adaptor
The PICO-TA129 biconical universal vacuum adaptor can be used to allow the WPS and FirstLook Sensor hoses to be connected to various sizes of smaller vacuum hoses within an engine bay. The adaptor fits vacuum tubes with internal diameters ranging from approximately 8.5 mm or 5/16 in, to 2.8 mm or 1/8 in.
WPS500X Vacuum Tap
The PICO-TA972 Vacuum Tap provides a simple way to connect the WPS500X into an existing vacuum hose. Simply disconnect one end of the hose, inset the tap and use an additional short length of hose to reconnect the system.
The WPS500X can then be attached directly to the quick coupler enabling in-circuit, low-pressure measurements to be made on the live system.
The 2 conical sections will cope with a range of hose internal diameters from 3 mm to 6 mm.
Fuel Hose Pressure Taps
The PICO-PP973 and PICO-PP974 fuel hose pressure taps provide a simple way to connect the WPS500X into an existing fuel or other suitable sized hoses. Simply disconnect one end of the hose, inset the tap and use an additional short length of hose to reconnect the system.
The WPS500X can then be attached directly to the quick coupler enabling in-circuit pressure measurements to be made on the live system.
If a clear length of hose is used, you can inspect the flow for any signs of cavitation, bubbles or unexpected reverse flow.
Medium Tap PICO-PP974
The medium fuel hose pressure tap is compatible with 5/16" and 3/8" internal diameter flexible hoses.
Small Tap PICO-PP973
The small fuel hose pressure tap is compatible with both 1/4" and 5/16" internal diameter flexible hoses.
Spark Plug Compression Test Adaptors
The Pico standard compression hose (PICO-TA212) must be used in conjunction with the appropriate adaptor for carrying out Engine Compression tests with the WPS500X.
Adaptors are available for the following spark plug thread sizes:
- PICO-TA213 M10 short reach
- PICO-TA214 M10 deep reach
- PICO-TA216 M12 deep reach
- PICO-TA217 M14 short reach
- PICO-TA218 M14 deep reach
- PICO-TA219 M16 for Ford triton style engines
- PICO-TA220 M18 for older engines
Ensure that the adaptor you select is the same thread size and no longer than the tip of the spark plug you are replacing. While using a shorter adaptor than the spark plug you are replacing may produce results that are slightly low, using one that is longer may damage your engine.
Diesel Glow Plug Adaptors
